At approximately 11:30 p.m. HST, November 27, 2022, an eruption began in Moku‘āweoweo, the summit caldera of Mauna Loa, inside Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park.

Parks Canada is recommending that bison remain in Banff National Park "in a controlled and measured form.”

As snow settles in for winter, so do bears across Jasper National Park. Parks Canada saw frequent bear activity in the Municipality of Jasper in 2022, with about a dozen bears drawn to town by attractants in yards and non-native fruit trees.

At an 8th District Court (NV) hearing in July 2022, Nicholas Ryan Floyd was ordered to serve 20-55 years in prison, with earliest parole possibility in 2042.
