If one looks to distant continents, they will see deserts and mountains, many similar to ours. Carved in stone are wildlife figures, some 10,000 years old. The inscriptions celebrate the essence of being – spirit, animal, earth, and sky.

Spring runoff continues to raise the elevation of Lake Powell at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in Utah, where National Park Service staff say the Halls Crossing Boat Ramp can now be used by all watercraft.

There are must-do hikes in many parks and Delicate Arch Trail in Arches National Park is one of them. This 3-mile (4.8 km) roundtrip hike up and over slickrock to a sandstone arch so famous it’s on the Utah state license plate is extremely popular and with good reason. The North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park reopened to the public Friday for day use, with limited visitor services and water conservation measures due to a break in the North Rim water pipeline. The National Park Service recommends that visitors bring their own drinking water and food with them.
