End of Season Travel Changes Coming Up at Denali National Park

The arrival of October at Denali National Park and Preserve brings both flexibility and changes for visitors who want to drive the Denali Park Road on their own. The famous drive is open to private vehicles as far as the Teklanika River Rest Area at Mile 30 through Friday, October 8, but after that it's a day-to-day thing, depending upon the weather and a road construction project

National Park Hospitality Association Wants More Lodging In The Parks

There are units of the National Park System, such as Canyonlands, North Cascades, and Great Smoky Mountains national parks, just to name three, that have little or no lodging within their borders. It's just such a lack of facilities, believes Derrick Crandall, that serves as a drag on visitation to the park system.
