National Parks Traveler

Each Spring, a group of dedicated volunteers and park staff members conduct an annual butterfly count at Joshua Tree National Park to catalog species found inside the park. The park's wilderness areas offer many such opportunities for ongoing scientific discovery, and this year's effort yielded an exciting surprise: a new butterfly species for the park.

Groups Working On National Saltwater Recreational Fishing Policy

The ocean waters off the national seashores and national parks that touch those waters offer incredible opportunities for recreation, whether it revolves around fishing, boating, or simply swimming. Now efforts are under way to develop a national policy focused on recreational fishing in those and other ocean waters.

Grand Teton National Park Roads Open To Cyclists, Roller-Bladers, And Pedestrians

From now through the end of the month you can pedal, roller-blade, or simply walk down the Teton Park Road in Grand Teton National Park without worrying about passenger cars and trucks. Although, you do need to watch out for snow-removal trucks and plows.
