Over 100 Crafters Sign Up To Create National Park Tempestries

The two tempestries had arrived in the mail, one depicting 1975 at Voyageurs National Park, the other, 2016. Comprised of all the colors of the rainbow and knit neatly by Deb Ceci, each row of the crafted work represents one day of high temperature data over the course of a year.

First Sea Turtle Nest Of The Season At Gulf Islands National Seashore

Biologists have identified the first sea turtle nest of the season at Gulf Islands National Seashore. The nest was discovered early on the morning of May 20th. On May 23rd, the park’s widely popular turtle magnets became available for visitors.

More Pavement Removed From Gulf Islands National Seashore

More than 500 cubic yards of asphalt and road base debris were removed from Gulf Islands National Seashore during the third year of a project to restore areas of the seashore.

A Pacific Loon At Gulf Islands National Seashore

My brother and I sat in the Santa Rosa area of Gulf Islands National Seashore in Florida, beach chairs perched on the bright white sand facing the Gulf of Mexico. In May, the water had taken on a bright, aquamarine hue, waves breaking against the shore in a froth of white.

Highway 399 At Gulf Islands National Seashore Reopens Following Hurricane Repairs

Highway 399 (J. Earle Bowden Way) has reopened through Gulf Islands National Seashore in Florida. The road between Pensacola Beach and Navarre Beach through the Santa Rosa area was closed in October ahead of Hurricane Michael making landfall on the Gulf Coast. The hurricane caused significant damage to the road.
