Civil War Trust Looks Back on Successful 2011 Campaign and Looks Forward to 2012 Challenges

It was just about a year ago that the Civil War Trust embarked on the first year of the sesquicentennial commemoration of the Civil War. During that year, the Trust was able to save more than 2,000 acres of hallowed ground.

Viewing Wildflowers By Bike At Shiloh National Military Park

Though Shiloh National Military Park was designated to preserve a poignant Civil War battlefield, the landscape harbors many other resources, such as flowering trees and wildflowers. To help visitors appreciate these other resources, rangers will be leading wildflower tours by bicycle next week.

National Park Service Rolling Out 5-Year Plan to Commemorate 150th Anniversary of Civil War

National Park Service Looking For Kids Interested in Becoming Junior Civil War Historians

Kids who visit a handful of Civil War-era units of the National Park System will be able to earn a special Junior Ranger patch, one that recognizes them as Junior Civil War Historians.
