Millions Of Dollars Heading To National Parks For Road, Multiple-Use Trail Improvements

Millions of dollars are flowing to the National Park System for work on aging roads and multiple-use trails in need of some TLC, and transportation systems thanks to the Paul S. Sarbanes Transit in the Parks program overseen by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Recalling What Winter's Supposed To Look Like In Yosemite National Park

The winter of 2011-2011 has gotten off to a veerryyyy slow start in Yosemite National Park, with the Tioga Road still open in early January and climbers reaching the top of a snowless Half Dome. Fortunately, park videographer Steve Bumgardner reached into his vault to create this special feature that shows winter as it's supposed to be in the Range of Light.

Tioga Road In Yosemite National Park Still Open

Just before Christmas Beth Pratt filed a report on the Tioga Road still being open through the high country of Yosemite National Park and the wonderful ice skating to be had on Tenaya Lake. She celebrated New Year's by driving the road on January 2, which, until today, marked a record for the latest date the road was open. Here's her latest report.
