So important are these trees that researchers with Parks Canada are working to raise a veritable disease-resilient forest of whitebark pines.

US Fish And Wildlife Service To Reconsider Wolverine For ESA Protections

Six months after a federal judge ruled that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service erred in its decision to deny Endangered Species Act protections for wolverines, the agency is reconsidering the matter and revisiting a past proposal to give the small predator a "threatened" designation under the act.

Portion Of Going-to-the-Sun Road In Glacier National Park Closed

The Going-to-the-Sun-Road in Glacier National Park is closed for the season from Avalanche on the west side to the Jackson Glacier overlook on the east side. A severe winter snowstorm followed by temperatures below freezing created unsafe traveling conditions along the alpine section of the Going-to-the-Sun Road, park officials said Wednesday.
