Road construction will begin in late May at Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Oklahoma. Multiple areas will be worked on throughout the summer, starting with the Cedar Blue entrance area.

Rock climbing routes on the east and northeast faces of Devils Tower at Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming will be temporarily closed, effective immediately, to protect nesting Peregrine and Prairie Falcons. The closure is implemented annually to provide the falcons with an undisturbed nesting location during this critical courtship and nest-selection period.

Parks Canada is planning two prescribed fires in Jasper National Park this year at Douglas-fir Hillsides and the Southdesk.

Parks Canada administers 224 protected places that are close to 600 neighbouring communities and include some of the world’s most iconic tourism destinations, like Banff National Park and Gros Morne National Park.
