The Municipality of Jasper has released a map showing the initial damage assessment of structures impacted by the biggest fire to sweep through Jasper National Park in more than a century. About 30 per cent of the town's structures — 358 of 1,113 — were damaged but critical infrastructure was saved.

Parks Canada estimates fire damage to the townsite in Jasper National Park to be 30 per cent. It has revealed that 358 of 1,113 structures within the Alberta mountain town have been destroyed in the fast-moving blaze that forced the evacuation of 25,000 people.

The National Park Service is seeking proposals to operate the Climbers' Ranch at Grand Teton National Park, a hostel that can accommodate 74 guests.

Parks Canada says that all critical infrastructure in Jasper National Park’s townsite has been protected from out-of-control wildfires including the hospital, emergency services building, both elementary and junior/senior schools, activity center and wastewater treatment plant.
