Three inches of rain turned the Virgin River in Zion National Park into a raging torrent, while rock and mud slides have blocked the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway in the park.

That headline is a good suggestion, but is it entirely possible not to leave any trace as you go about hiking, camping, wildlife viewing, and engaging in other recreation activities in officially designated wilderness areas, and landscapes in the National Park System that are managed as de facto wilderness? What can you do, personally, to limit sign of your passage through wilderness?
